A lacquer ware, like representative
tableware, is treated as a gear in daily life therefore it is not
so large compared with a size of the human body. Generally, a highly
sophisticated lacquer ware is admired in your hands and your gaze
is concentrated upon its surface, so you see it rather than feel
it directly. I try to bring a world out from your hands by making
a gallery space in which the lacquered surfaces spread out. You
could be aware that you are among the surfaces. You feel it rather
than see it. |
